To focus on student’s needs and
interests. We encourage full use of the self-access centre with
its multi-media facilities, and the multi-bay computer I-lab.
There are recorders for listening and pronunciation practice
and use of computers with CD-ROM and access to the internet.
Role-play and other communicative activities are other techniques
used to involve students in learning English.
OUR TEACHERS
Our teachers are English native speakers
chosen for their personal and professional qualities and for their
insight and understanding developed from working with learners
from many countries. All our teachers have an RSA/Cambridge or
Trinity college London Certificate or Diploma in the Teaching
of English as a Foreign or Second Language.
On your first day you will be asked to complete
a short test, which will tell us your level of English. You will
then be placed in a suitable class for your level. Early in the
course, teachers arrange to meet students individually to discuss
their personal objectives, and these tutorials continue throughout
the course to help students focus on which learning strategies
are most needed to get best out of their time in Hastings. At
the end of their course, all vacation students will receive a
Certificate, all other students will receive a Certificate and
an academic report.
If you discover that the lessons are too hard (or too easy), then
you can discuss this with your teacher or the Director of Studies.
If there is something you need help with, your teachers are always
available to help you both in and out of class.
